Be like water

In one of the talks Osho says:

Remember, whatsoever you do — if you are doing it at all — do it totally.

If you don’t want to do it at all, then don’t do it — then don’t do it totally.

The total-ness has to be remembered because that total-ness is the most significant thing.

If you continuously go on doing things in which you are contradictory, inconsistent, in which a part of you moves and another part doesn’t move, you are destroying your inner flowering.

By and by you will become a plastic flower — with no fragrance, with no life.

It happened: Mulla Nasrudin on leaving a party said to his hostess, “Thank you very much for inviting me. It is the very nicest party I have ever been invited to in all my life.” And the party was very ordinary. Somewhat taken aback the hostess exclaimed. “Oh, don’t say that.” To which the Mulla replied, “But I do say that. I always say that.”

Then it is meaningless. Then it is absolutely meaningless.

Don’t live a life of mere manners, don’t live a life of mere etiquette. Live an authentic life.

I know the life of etiquette, manner, is comfortable, convenient; but it is poisonous.

It kills you slowly, slowly.

The life of authenticity is not so convenient and comfortable.

It is risky, it is dangerous — but it is real, and the danger is worth.

And you will never repent for it.

Once you start enjoying the real life, the real feeling, the real flow of your energy and you are not divided and split, then you will understand that if everything is to be staked for it, it is worth it.

My comments from my life experiences.

Lao Tzu called it be like water. The water seems very weak as compared to rocks, but over time the water can cut the rock.

In the same way by living the authentic life it seem to you that you are living an ordinary life but over a period of time it helps in cutting the rock like ego from your path to enlightenment. When you are doing a job adopt that role. In one day you may need to adopt 4-5 roles. This way your ego does not get fixed at one profession or qualification or position.

If I was asked by my boss to get a photocopy of a document then I used to take it as if I have a photo copy shop and this job is mine as an owner of that shop. This brought totality in me, that I later discovered that it is becoming fluid or like water.

Awareness meditation is the way worked for me, may be you too find it suitable otherwise Dynamic meditation is for most of the people. There are 110 other meditation techniques discovered by Indian Mystic Gorakhnath about 500years before and further modified by Osho that one can experiment and the suitable one could be practiced in routine life.

Osho International Online (OIO) provides facility to learn these from your home,

1. through Osho Meditation Day @€20.00 per person. OIO rotate times through three timezones NY,Berlin and Mumbai. You can prebook according to the convenient time for you.

2. There is OSHO Evening Meeting streaming which can be accessed every day at local time starting 6:40 pm (of which Osho says that he wants his people to view it all over the world and these days it is possible) and 16 of the meditations mostly with video instructions and so much more on OSHO.com/meditate.

3. There is a 7 days Free Trial also for people who would like to first try it out.

This is an opportunity for learning and knowing Osho through these sannyasins who lived in his presence and brought to life his words in best possible quality in all formats.

Disciples of Jesus left him alone in last minutes but Osho’s disciples remained with him till he left his body willingly after working, till last day, for all of us to get enlightened. Jesus tried hard till last minute, before being caught, to teach meditation to his disciples. As per Saint John’s Gospel:- Jesus used word ‘Sit’ to transfer his meditative energy to them and went on to pray God, but on returning he found them sleeping. He tried two times again but in vain.

Even today Zen people use word ‘Sit’ for meditation in their saying ‘Sit silently, do nothing, season comes and the grass grows by itself green’.
